About this item
  • Metric Thread Tap Size: Thread size: M3 x 0.5; accuracy: H2; square shank width: 2.5mm / 0.1 inch; thread length: 17mm / 0.67 inch; total length: 50mm / 1.97 inch. The screw taps can make new threads or re-thread damaged or jammed threads.
  • Straight Flute Tap: Straight flutes are ground to provide rapid downward chip removal for efficient threading. Clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction. Good for processing through or shallow holes.
  • Wide Applications: The mini metric taps are mainly used for clocks, watches, low hardness wood and soft metal hole processing. Suitable for processing most metals, iron plate, copper, zinc, alloy steel, abrasive steel, A3 steel, stainless steel, etc..
  • High-speed Steel Tap: Provide high hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Uncoated taps feature just the base substrate without any additional coatings, and fit a wide range of applications.
  • Tips: Used with proper tapping oil for higher quality threads and more durable taps when tapping. Machine taps are used with tapping machines, drilling machines, automatic or milling machines, CNC. Recommended feed speed: ordinary steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel material: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. NOT recommended for hand and electric drill tapping.

Product Description:
Specifications:
Thread Size: M3 x 0.5
Accuracy: H2
Square Shank Width: 2.5mm / 0.1 inch
Thread Length: 17mm / 0.67 inch
Total Length: 50mm / 1.97 inch
Material: HSS (High-Speed Steel)

Package Content:
4pcs x Metric Thread Taps

Descriptions:
1. Straight flutes are ground to provide rapid downward chip removal for efficient threading. Clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction. Good for processing through holes or shallow holes. The thread tap can make new threads or re-thread damaged or jammed threads.
2. The mini metric taps are mainly used for clocks, watches, low hardness wood and soft metal hole processing. Suitable for most metals, iron plate, copper, zinc, alloy steel, abrasive steel, A3 steel, stainless steel, etc.. Add proper tapping oil for higher quality internal threads and more durable taps.
3. High-speed steel taps have high hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Uncoated taps feature just the base substrate without any additional coatings, and fit a wide range of applications.
4. Machine taps are used with tapping machines, drilling machines, milling machines, CNC. Recommended feed speed: ordinary steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel material: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. NOT recommended for hand and electric drill tapping.

Tips:
1. Control speed according to material hardness. The higher the hardness, the slower the speed. Fast speed with small torque; slow speed with high torque. The force must be uniform in tapping operations.
2. Drill the holes with a twist drill bit first, then tap with a thread tap. The tapping angle should be 90 degrees vertical and stable.
3. The tapping depth should not exceed 1.5 times the diameter of the tap (for example, the diameter M5x0.8 is about 5mm, and the depth should not exceed 7.5mm.)
