Operational step, requirements and key points
  • 1. Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the cylinder head mating surfaces and the inside of the valve cover using a carbide cleaner, ensuring they are absolutely clean, dry, and free of dust.
  • 2. Inspection: Inspect the valve cover for deformation or cracks; gaskets must be replaced with brand new ones. Check the bolt threads are intact.
  • 3. Place the Gasket: Place the new gasket flat into the sealing groove of the valve cover, ensuring it is fully seated and without twisting.
  • 4. Tightening the Bolts: A torque wrench must be used. Tighten to the specified torque value in 2-3 steps, following the sequence specified in the manual (usually from the center outwards in a crisscross pattern).
  • 5. Post-installation inspection    If sealant was applied after installation, wait for it to fully cure (usually ≥1 hour) before starting. After starting, run the machine to normal operating temperature, carefully check for oil leaks around the edges, and conduct a road test followed by a final check.
