About this item
  • Metric Thread Tap: Thread size: M10 x 1 (right hand); accuracy: H2; total length: 80mm / 3.15"; square shank width: 6.2mm / 0.24"; thread length: 25mm / 0.98"; number of chip flutes: 3 flutes
  • Straight Flute Tap: Straight flute design, clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction. Provides rapid downward chip removal to achieve efficient thread cutting, suitable for processing through holes or shallow holes.
  • Wide Applications: Thread taps create new threads or re-thread damaged or jammed threads. Widely used for most metals, iron plate, copper, zinc, alloy steel, abrasive steel, A3 steel, stainless steel. Add proper tapping oil for higher quality threads and more durable taps.
  • M35 Cobalt High Speed Steel: Offer improved hardness, wear resistance and cutting performance, as well as excellent heat resistance and higher strength than regular high-spedd steel taps. Titanium coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, improves wear resistance and hardness, and reduces the coefficient of friction for smoother and faster tapping.
  • Tips: Machine taps are used with tapping, drilling, automatic or milling machines. Drill the holes with a twist drill bit first, then tap with a thread tap. The tapping angle should be 90 degrees vertical and stable. NOT recommended for hand and electric drill tapping.

Product Description:
1pcs Metric Thread Tap:
Thread Size: M10 x 1 (Right Hand)
Accuracy: H2
Total Length: 80mm / 3.15 inch
Square Shank Width: 6.2mm / 0.24 inch
Thread Length: 25mm / 0.98 inch
Chip Flutes: 3 Flutes
Material: M35 Cobalt High Speed Steel (HSS-CO)
Finish: Titanium Coated

Descriptions:
1. Straight flute tap, clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction. Provides rapid downward chip removal to achieve efficient thread cutting, suitable for processing through holes or shallow holes.
2. Thread taps create new threads or re-thread damaged or jammed threads. Widely used for most metals, iron plate, copper, zinc, alloy steel, abrasive steel, A3 steel, stainless steel, etc.. Add proper tapping oil for higher quality internal threads and more durable taps.
3. M35 cobalt high-speed steel taps offer improved hardness, wear resistance and cutting performance, as well as excellent heat resistance and higher strength. Titanium coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, and reduces the coefficient of friction for smoother tapping.
4. Machine taps are used with tapping machines, drilling machines, milling machines, CNC. Recommended feed speed: ordinary steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel material: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. NOT recommended for hand and electric drill tapping.

Tips:
1. Control speed according to material hardness. The higher the hardness, the slower the speed. Fast speed with small torque; slow speed with high torque. The force must be uniform in tapping operations.
2. Drill the holes with a twist drill bit first, then tap with a thread tap. The tapping angle should be 90 degrees vertical and stable.
3. The tapping depth should not exceed 1.5 times the diameter of the tap (for example, the diameter M5x0.8 is about 5mm, and the depth should not exceed 7.5mm.)
